The Golden Berry has a smooth, waxy, glossy and orange-yellow skin. The pulp is juicy and contains numerous, very small, light - yellow seeds. The berry is round, 1.5 to 2.5 cm in diameter, and of a dark yellow almost orange color. The inner berry is covered with a lantern-like hood, which should not be eaten.
