The flesh, which is eaten raw, is mildly sweet and low in calories. The fruit undergoes the same drying process, which removes the majority of water contained in the fruit. Pitaya is considered to be a superfood/ superfruit due to its high nutritional value.
Pitaya is high in fiber, calcium, Vitamin B1, B2, B3, C, and antioxidants. It helps control blood sugar and is an excellent source of essential fibers. Pitaya also reduces acid levels in blood cells and aids the digestive system.
